Butterfly Weaving

This butterfly weaving lesson will be your new favorite project to teach in the spring, summer and even fall! Students will love applying their basic weaving skills towards a new intermediate challenge of creating a woven butterfly. 

Students starting from 3rd grade on up can enjoy this lesson. Each instruction is explained with a corresponding photo demonstrating the action. There is also a printer-friendly version that is text only. This project is perfect for spring and summer units, and even fall with the migration of Monarch butterflies! This is a lovely project to complete outside during nicer days. Use for after school art club, summer art camp, homeschooling, or your personal enjoyment! Students will love adding their own unique flair to their design. Once they get the hang of the pattern, they won’t want to stop.
